NPR

Someone inform Diane Rehm at NPR that she was the first woman Todd asked for. And for godsakes, don't mention it to Leah.

  1. I sent the following email to the Diane Rehm show...

    Dear Diane-

I am writing to you today for a dear friend of mine, Todd Beckett, who was severely injured in a hit and run accident this past Friday night (6/25/10) while on his motorcycle at the intersection of 13th & Kansas Ave NW. The police have been working on putting together the details, but all we have so far is that he was hit by a white car (which was found today, abandoned), and dragged over 200 feet. He has sustained severe injuries to his body, legs and arms, but fortunately his helmet did its job and his head and spine are OK.

When Todd awoke after his first surgery, the first person he asked for was you. It would mean the world to him (and to us, his friends and family) if you could reach out to him in some way. Todd is undergoing treatment at The Washington Hospital Center - Room 4H20. He does not have a phone there. A personal visit would be ideal, but I know that you're a busy person. I am able to pass on an email to his wife, Leah, if so needed.

Thank you in advance for your help, you compassion, and you caring.

    Sincerely,

  2. I sent the following email to Diane Rehm, and got a call back from Sandra Pinkard her producer. They are going to mail a signed "get well" head shot to Todd's house.

  3. I have to tell you, after all our thoughts about Todd and our hopes for his ongoing recovery, I laughed out loud at this one. If he can laugh without pain, it may be time to get the podcasts of recent "Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me" shows, so he has something to enjoy during his recovery efforts.
